It will take a village and multiple generations to achieve the millenia-long vision of The Spring Institute for Forests on the Moon.
It will take a village and multiple generations to achieve the millenia-long vision of The Spring Institute for Forests on the Moon.
In the era of the New Space industry, we have a unique opportunity to redefine the focus of space exploration for the next generation. While previous endeavors were driven by military and governmental requirements, the growing influence of commercial and private interests has transformed the landscape.
Despite progress, space remains inaccessible on a global scale. As of 2021, only six nations have successfully sent career astronauts into space. Our aim is to ensure that underrepresented demographics are not excluded from this crucial phase of space exploration. At the Spring Institute, our central mission is to democratize space. We strive to engage individuals from diverse nationalities and disciplines, empowering them to contribute their knowledge and experiences to their home countries.
To achieve this, we organize career-building events, including hackathons, in collaboration with local organizations, universities, and governments. These events are designed to inspire action within communities and offer local sponsorship or funding opportunities to accelerate innovative ideas.
By championing the strength and resilience afforded by a diverse community of scientists, engineers, artists and dreamers, the Spring Institute for Forests on the Moon will accomplish its objective of building a functional ecosystem in a lunar environment.
We hope to inspire future generations to continue gazing at the stars, recognizing them as our shared cultural heritage.
From the creation of earth to humanity's reach for the starts. Together with local partners, The Spring Institute has created a space exploration exhibition to support local education and spark curiosity in future space explorers.

Space Ecology Workshop (Date TBD)
Our own annual event. While largely private, we host public seminars on 4-5 and 11-12 May, 2024.
For half a day, learn how to build a cubesat or a terrarium. This workshop is meant as an entry point for hands on experience with the space and ecology challenges that met by Spring team members. Sign up for a course or get trained as a moderator!
